Concept Design

This room has great potential to be developed into a more functional and modern workspace. Considering the existing elements (island table with reagent shelves and glass whiteboard).

1. “Ultra-Modern Clinical” Concept

Focus on a clean, hygienic, and futuristic look to reinforce the laboratory’s professionalism.

Materials: Use seamless wall panels (such as sandwich panels with epoxy coving) for easy cleaning. Lower cabinet doors can use high-gloss finishes or metallic materials.

Lighting: Replace standard light panels with linear LED lighting embedded in the ceiling to provide even lighting without sharp shadows.

Color Accents: Maintain the dominance of white, but replace dark green panels with laboratory blue (cobalt blue) or dark gray for a more modern look.

2. The Concept of “Ergonomic Productivity”

Focus on user comfort and workflow efficiency around the fume hood.

Workstation Additions: Add a central workbench (island bench) made of chemical-resistant material (such as phenolic resin) to give researchers more space for note-taking or placing tools.

Integrated Storage: Install transparent hanging shelves above work areas that do not have ventilation to store frequently used reagent bottles so they do not pile up in the fume hood area.

Visual Safety: Use minimalist but clear safety indicator stickers on each fume hood unit to emphasize the function of each area.

3. “Industrial Tech” Concept

Emphasizes material durability and ease of technical access.

Shelf Material: Use black powder-coated iron or stainless steel shelves for additional storage space next to the fume hood.

Flooring: Use special laboratory vinyl flooring with a smooth cement or gray pattern to conceal scratches and provide contrast to the white furniture.

Technical Details: Highlight the air ducting at the top with matching finishing materials, giving the impression of a technically advanced laboratory.
